The print

Kalo was one of the very first prints created for Wehi. The design began as a hand-drawn sketch by a talented local tattoo artist and close family friend, making it especially meaningful to our journey.

This print was originally created for Hālau Ka Lei Mokihana o Leinaʻala of Kauaʻi and was worn during their 2019 Merrie Monarch Festival performance. The design represented Hanalei, a place deeply connected to the story and spirit of the hula being performed.

Kalo is more than a print—it is a reflection of culture, friendship, artistry, and the honor of contributing to a special moment in hula history. As one of our earliest designs, it remains a cherished part of the Wehi story and a reminder of where our creative journey began.
