Hau

Hau is the sacred Polynesian-introduced tree whose flower opens yellow at dawn, turns orange through the day, and falls red at dusk. The blossom is the daily reminder of brevity. The fiber was used in our cordage, in lei, in the lashings of our voyaging canoes.
